Ecclesiastical New Year
On September 1st, Orthodox Christians mark the start of the Ecclesiastical Year. This week we offer several resources related to the start of the liturgical calendar. First is a video from the Discovering Orthodoxy series in which Rev. Dr. Philip Zymaris and Rev. Fr. John Vlahos explore the rich liturgical life of the Orthodox Church and explain how it annually takes us through the life of Christ.

Creation and Fall
This week we also continue with the fifth in a series of eight videos from Be the Bee which discuss Orthodoxy and some of the basic questions people have about the faith. In the following episode, Steve takes a closer look at Creation and the Fall. In the beginning, Adam and Eve had the freedom to either move closer to God, the source of life, or away from Him, and find death. When Adam and Eve sinned they separated themselves from God and each other, creating the wounded, sick humanity that they passed down to us.
