Spiritual Growth Resources

Christ is Risen! Χριστὸς ἀνέστη! What a blessed journey from the start of Great Lent through Holy Week to Pascha. We now enter Bright Week and the fifty day period that leads up to Pentecost known as the Pentecostarion. Before we discuss this, let’s look back to Great and Holy Pascha through the icon of the Resurrection. The icon of the Resurrection depicts the most important moment in the history of time! When the uncreated God pulls us out of our fallen state of death and brings us into ever lasting light and life. We can learn much about the central feast on our liturgical calendar through this icon as seen in following video from Trisagion Films.

Additional Resources

Each week going forward we will offer additional podcasts and videos related to the Feasts of the Pentecostarion. Up first is this offering from Fr. Joseph Honeycutt who offers us a refresher on how we should pray during Bright Week and the Paschal season: Paschal Prayers

In addition, Fr. Thomas Hopko discusses Pascha in the following podcast from
Ancient Faith Radio: Christ is Risen, Truly He is Risen and looks forward to the
Sunday of Thomas.
